Youth Cell


Our Youth Cell recognizes the pivotal role of young people in societal progress. Men aged 18 to 30 are invited to join. Activities include prayer, meditation, study sessions on Vedanta and Ramakrishna-Vivekananda literature and a question-answer forum every Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Members also volunteer in various initiatives such as Free Medical Camps, Relief Camps, and Mobile Medical Services, as well as in the distribution of Prasad during celebrations.

National Youth Day Celebration'2025

Morning Session (from 8-30 a.m. to 11-30 a.m.)
The following competitions are conducted in this session.
(1) Art Competition: 203 nos. of students participated in two groups:
Group-A students up to Class V and
Group-B Class VI to VIII from different schools of Guwahati.
(2) Speech Competition: 28 nos. of students from Class VIII to Class XII of different schools of Guwahati participated in the speech competition.

Afternoon Session (from 3-30 p.m. onwards)

A Public Meeting and Prize Distribution Ceremony was held at our Vivekananda Hall. The programme started with Vedic Chanting by the Monks of the Ashrama followed by a opening song by Master Anupam Bhatt, a youth member.

Swami Atmashuddhananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Guwahati in his address welcome the guests, devotees and youths and urges the students to imbibe the true education in them — Man making and Character building based on Swami Vivekananda’s idea.

Sri Diganta Biswa Sarma, Admirer of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda-Aurobindo and renowned translator, was the Chief Guest in this meeting. In his address he shed light on Vivekananda’s role in framing Modern India.

Swami Vikramananda, a monk of this Ashrama advised the students to develop the power of concentration and fearlessness based on Swami Vivekananda’s Life and Teaching which will bring success in their lives.

Prizes comprising of Certificates, photos and books of Swami Vivekananda awarded to winner participants of each category.

All the participants were given the book titled “Swami Vivekananda, the friend of all”. The meeting was ended with vote of thanks by Br. Devichaitannya of our Ashrama followed by National Anthem.

About 400 audiences (students, guardians, teachers and devotees) attended the programme.
