Ramakrishna Mission had been engaged, since inception, to stir the society in a silent yet impactful way by promoting non-sectarian and transformational messages of unlimited human potentialities through its world-wide branch centres. It’s founder, Swami Vivekananda, had also vision of having regional mouthpieces which would uphold and spread indigenous cultures, languages, festivals etc. rooted in India’s timeless heritage.
Keeping these in mind, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Guwahati, has been publishing a quarterly journal ‘VIVEK BHASKAR’ (ISSN : 2348-8328) in Assamese language since 2014, in order to disseminate the universal and eternal messages of Peace, Harmony, Strength and Prosperity as envisaged by Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda, Srimanta Sankardeva, Sri Madhabdeva etc. saints & stalwarts along with the Vedanta.
The socio-cultural journal has already earned a good name amongst the learned and the critic within a very short period. Its contents are highly thought-provoking, insightful, inspiring and the same are contributed by eminent writers, distinguished personalities and specialists in different fields covering the vast domain of Philosophy, Arts, Science, Yoga, Culture & Heritage, Education, Personality development, Youth-empowerment, Morality, Assamese traditions etc. which are very useful in character-building and guiding the youth of today on the basis of our rich cultural & spiritual background. Moreover, the standard journal is a worth read for persons of all age group.
Various educational institutions subscribe to this journal and many college libraries maintain ‘Vivek Bhaskar’ for NAAC visit benefits. Even the department of Education, Govt. of Assam has also recognized this journal and added to the Circular recommending its subscription to all the colleges & Universities, twice, in the year 2022.
Hon’ble Governor of Assam released the special issue of ‘Vivek Bhaskar’ in connection with celebrations of 75 years of India’s Independence.
